Up the Hill Alone: 25. Why I Travel

I travel simply because I can. I am by no means well- or far-traveled, but I do enjoy traveling when the opportunity presents itself. I travel for a variety of reasons of reasons including but not limited to: family vacations, far-away good live music, far-away friends, points of interest and that “I need to get out of here for a while” feeling. I travel because I enjoy seeing new places and sometimes I really like the feeling of being outside of my comfort zone and element, literally. I travel just because it’s nice to be able to. I travel because it’s an excuse to take a lot of pictures, or to turn off (the sound on) my cell phone for a while, or maybe even do both at the same time. I travel because it’s refreshing and because sometimes nothing is better than a fresh start, even if it doesn’t last for very long.
